...that Sibel Edmonds bitches and whines in public alot for someone who has supposedly been gagged?

Interesting...I'd seen this name posted by woowoos a few times and didn't know anything about her, but a quick bit of research (googling) seems to suggest that she's at war with the fbi because of their shoddy work and the subsequent threat that this poses to the US national security.

So why is she a pin-up for the woowoos?

Deleted. I misunderstood the point of the thread. And yes, Sibel Edmonds IS the most talkative person under a gag order that I have ever seen.

They better revoke the gag order before she tells even more. :covereyes

BTW: How much people have you seen talking under a gag order??? :D

I don't know much about her but I have seen fellow "woowoos" describe her as the most gagged woman in history. Could be exageration.

She apparently knows some foreknowledge of 911 that the FBI don't want us to know.

The argument is that the 9/11 commision is not a full account because she couldnt testify

She was employed by the FBI after 911

Why would they ask her to testify?

Heres her own words

I started working for the Bureau immediately after 9/11 and I was performing translations for several languages: Farsi, Turkish, and Azerbaijani. And I do have top-secret clearance. And after I started working for the Bureau, most of my translation duties included translations of documents and investigations that actually started way before 9/11. And certain documents were being sent that needed to be re-translated for various reasons, and of course certain documents had to be translated for the first time due to the backlog.

During my work there I came across some very significant issues that I started reporting in December of 2001 to the mid-level management within the FBI. They said to basically leave it alone, because if they were to get into those issues it would end up being a can of worms. And after I didn't see any response from this mid-level bureaucratic management I took it to higher levels all the way up to [assistant director] Dale Watson and Director Mueller. And, again, I was asked not to take this any further and just let it be. And if I didn't do that they would retaliate against me.
At that point, which would be around February 2002, they came and they confiscated my computer, because, they said, they were suspecting that I was communicating with certain Senate members and taking this issue outside the Bureau. And, at that point, I was not. They did not find anything in my computer after they confiscated it. And they asked me to take a polygraph as to the allegations and reports I'd made. I volunteered and I took the polygraph and passed it without a glitch. They have already confirmed this publicly.
In March 2002 I took this issue to the Senate Judiciary Committee and also I filed it with the Department of Justice Inspector General's office. And as per the Senate Judiciary Committee's request the IG started an expedited investigation on these serious issues; and they promised the Senate Judiciary Committee that their report for these investigations would be out by fall 2002 latest. And here we are in April 2004 and this report is not being made public, and they are citing "state privilege" and "national security" for not making this report public.
Three weeks after I went to the Senate Judiciary Committee the Bureau terminated my contract, and they cited "government's convenience." I started working with the Senate Judiciary Committee that was investigating this case, and I appeared before the Inspector General's office for their investigation several times, and I also requested documents regarding these reports under the Freedom of Information Act; and they blocked this by citing again the "state secret privilege" and "national security" refusing to make these documents public. On October 18th 2002 Attorney General Ashcroft came out personally, in public, asserted this rare "state secret privilege" on everything that had to do with my case. And they cited "diplomatic relations" and certain "foreign relations" that would be "at stake" if I were to take this issue and make it public. And, since then, this has been acting as a gag on my case.

The full interview is here.

Look its not a conspiracy site, you can relax.

I think this woman must know something big. It at least proves they are hiding something

She seems to me to be a lot like that British Shayler guy - someone in a government agency full of their own self importance, trying to get involved in stuff that they shouldn't. She was a TRANSLATOR. Since when does a translator tell investigators and field agents how to use the information they provide?

She might not like how they use the information she provides, but tough [rule8]. She can quit. It's not her place to get involved in the application of the information.

Do Intelligence Officers try tell commanders how to use the intelligence they provide? No. They don't.

It is interesting.....

This is the story of hundreds, if not thousands, of foreign language documents that the FBI neglected to translate before and after the Sept. 11 attacks -- documents that detailed what the FBI heard on wiretaps and learned during interrogations of suspected terrorists.

Sibel Edmonds, a translator who worked at the FBI's language division, says the documents weren't translated because the division was riddled with incompetence and corruption.

Edmonds was fired after reporting her concerns to FBI officials. She told her story behind closed doors to investigators in Congress and to the Justice Department. Most recently, she spoke with the commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks.

She first told Correspondent Ed Bradley her story a year after Sept. 11. Because she is fluent in Turkish and other Middle Eastern languages, Edmonds, a Turkish-American, was hired by the FBI soon after Sept. 11 and given top-secret security clearance to translate some of the reams of documents seized by FBI agents who have been rounding up suspected terrorists across the United States and abroad.

Edmonds says that to her amazement, from the day she started the job, she was told repeatedly by one of her supervisors that there was no urgency,- that she should take longer to translate documents so that the department would appear overworked and understaffed. That way, it would receive a larger budget for the next year.

“We were told by our supervisors that this was the great opportunity for asking for increased budget and asking for more translators,” says Edmonds. “And in order to do that, don't do the work and let the documents pile up so we can show it and say that we need more translators and expand the department.”

Edmonds says that the supervisor, in an effort to slow her down, went so far as to erase completed translations from her FBI computer after she'd left work for the day.

“The next day, I would come to work, turn on my computer, and the work would be gone. The translation would be gone,” she says. “Then I had to start all over again and retranslate the same document. And I went to my supervisor and he said, ‘Consider it a lesson and don't talk about it to anybody else and don't mention it.’

"The lesson was don’t work, and don’t do the translations. ...Don't do the work because -- and this is our chance to increase the number of people here in this department."

Edmonds put her concerns about the FBI's language department in writing to her immediate superiors and to a top official at the FBI. For months, she said she received no response. Then, she turned for help to the Justice Department's inspector general and to Sen. Charles Grassley, whose committee, the Judiciary Committee, has direct oversight of the FBI.

“She's credible,” says Grassley. “And the reason I feel she's very credible is because people within the FBI have corroborated a lot of her story.”

I guess i´ve found the mastermind behind 9/11. ETA: And the motive.

In the blatimore chronicle article it's only hinted as to what she was objecting to, and yet in the cbs article it is clearly stated as being the fbi using 9/11 to increase it's foreign language dept funding and possibly attempting to cover up incompetence prior to 9/11.

So, who ya gonna believe?

WOW. This was a great article about the mess
behind the scenes. If i sum up all the mess from
all the departments i highly doubt that there will
be ever a new investigation. It would ruin the
whole government. :boggled:

She's an intresting case in regard to 9/11 non-logic. The conspiracy liars constantly state that "those in the know" won't speak up because they are afraid of government retribution. So here's Edmonds, who speaks out and what does the FBI do? They fired her! Why didn't they just bump her off?

Next, she goes around blabbing about everything under the sun, files all these lawsuits and guess what the evil United States government does? IT DOESN'T KILL HER!

Catch 22:

If she dies, it proves the FBI killed her to keep her quiet.

If she lives, it proves that they are scared to kill her because it would give her story credibility.

Actually, (and remember or verify by checking my other posts on the conspiracy topic, that I am not one of the CT nuts!!!! - short: they are full of crap from pole to pole), I assume the FBI lets her talk and leaves her alone because it makes her look like a loonie. I also strongly suspect that what she found is more evidence that had the FBI ,et al. , been up-to-date on the translations all or a major part of the AL QUAEDA plot could/would have been prevented. This is not news except to republican true believers but the greater the hard evidence we find, the worse it makes our intelligence services look and deservedly so. They did drop the ball on this one. BUT that does not make 9?11 a conspiracy on the part of the government - just a planet X fire drill.

There you go....the woowoo's want to believe that the action taken against her is because she has evidence that 9/11 was an inside job, whereas all I can find is that she was pissed at how the fbi wanted to spin the translation of documents (or non translation) to get more funding and that they were covering up their ineptitude in the run up to 9/11 and the possible comprimise of US national security by their alleged inability to prevent infiltration by AQ.

SHE feels that US national security is under threat from AQ and that the fbi is trying to hide this.

Doesn't sound like the woowoo mantra of an inside job.

There is more to Sibel's story, though I'd have to go looking for a link. She has also questiong the influence of Turkish officials over the department. The allegations I have read amount to a charge of a mole in the department being tolerated by management.

Yeah, I know: what does Turkey have to do with al-Qaeda? I think the 9/11 tie-in is strictly the incompetence angle, an incompetence fueled by corruption in a separate arena.
