Know that you're kidding, Mycroft, but anyone who visits the Bad Astronomy Bulletin Board (BABB) knows that there ARE folks out there that think it was a hoax.

If anyone should meet those types, or need ammuntion for an argument on the Moon landings, direct them/you to Bad Astronomy www.badastronomy.com or jay windley's site www.clavius.org and all will be revealed.

And no, Jay Utah and the BA did not pay me for my endorsement..quality sites like those need to be known for the resource-minded skeptic.

For the very few people who might be interested, I just read an article in Information Week (July 4, 2005 issue) about how that site, or more to the point http://maps.google.com/, was written in a "new" language called Ajax, which is a combination of javascript and xml that goes a long way toward eliminating repeated download times. Mighty slick.

My daughter actually clued me in on this while she was researching a paper this year. I was so proud...
