I am going to try working through the Green Party convention materials, and the first thing that catches full information voters' minds is the Julian Assange speech.

A couple of points: the Green Party introduced him as a hero, for the obvious reason of publishing truthful information from our own government that it does not want us to see, in order to be unaccountable. The establishment media, in its recent interviews, has been introducing him as an alleged rapist, ignoring the 35 year sentence his informant Chelsea Manning received, including psychological torture, for the Collateral Murder tape and other whistleblower files. This is why he is holed up in the Ecuadoran Embassy, because once the US gets its hands on him, he is going to be treated the same way as Manning.

So it is important to tar him with salacious perversions rather than the person who showed us the government murdering innocent people, then murdering more innocent people who tried to render aid. Over the lie about Iraq having WMD's that were an imminent threat to us. Or the person you go to for Russian government leaks - dissidents, plans for breaking the Trans-Atlantic Alliance, etc - WikiLeaks is where you go to get whistleblowing on criminal acts by the Russian government. He is not a Russian dupe or agent. He publishes whatever he can find on them too.

I have seen a number of these mainstream media interviews where after he is introduced as an alleged rapist, then they ask him to deny the DNC emails came from Russia. They know he never comments on sources, so this is not a question, not even a rhetorical question, but propaganda. The interviewer will state the same thing over and over again - Russia, Russia, Russia. You are a rapist, and your DNC source is Russia.

Despite the technical difficulties in the live stream, Assange covered a number of very important points the Greens and other full-information voters should concern themselves with. A lot had to do with Google. Google is the next-generation Military Industrial Complex creature that is different because it doesn't just produce MIC products, but it governs how we communicate, what information we have access to, along with our privacy to the point of knowing potentially every letter we type on our keyboard. This is not the kind of profit-based entity you want partnering with government in a 1984 world of Orwell. Yes, the computer camera can be used to spy on you and they are.

This is important to me, that the Greens would choose such a speaker, and actually allow him to speak freely. To treat his issues with such respect.

His main message, I do believe, is the same one I have often repeated here: voting for the lesser of two evils (cholera and ghonorrea as Assange put it for this election) has not served us. If the major parties are not going to represent our interests, we are going to vote for those that do. I really am concerned about both the spy state at home, this criminalization of thought, the dangerous union between government and the information highway, our privacy - I think the Green Party addresses my interests on this subject this election.

One issue of many.

If you want a POTUS that represents your interests, you first need to find one that is actually qualified for the job.

Holy **** Jill Stein has some balls.

She condemned Saudi War Crimes in Yemen and Israeli War Crimes in Palestine in two sentences.

In general, their anti-war stance is very appealing.

The audio I am listening to on YouTube isn't so good. I can't make out what she is saying about Black Lives Matter and Policing, but it is sounding pro-BLM. In researching that, they call out for Black Lives Matter to support the greens. Speak out against the conviction of Jasmine Richards. There are half a dozen BLM issues the Greens have issued statements of support on. Hillary gave an endorsement to BLM and has had tepid meetings with them. This is more like fawning, lol.

The democrats are the party of deportation and night raids.

Police review boards - that sounds reasonable. But it is a local power, not Federal.

Edward Snowden, Assange and other persecuted whistleblowers saluted...

"no more war" chant by the crowd. Six trillion spent since 9/11 invading other countries, overthrowing governments. Funding and training ISIS. Saudis are still Hillary's main financial supporter...

Anti-nuclear weapons. Bashes Bill Clinton on that. Climate meltdown.

Hillary Clinton is the problem, not the solution to Trump.

Would have to listen again to pick up a better grasp of the whole thing.

Like what? I am sure you will give examples and links, like you did about Obama and Clinton arming ISIS... Oh wait.

Whatever happened to ninjo and giri? Manning did what was necessary to fulfill ninjo but must pay the obligation of duty to fulfill the service she violated. Whistleblower should want to face punishment.

She's a political hipster. She was pro Putin before Donald made it "cool."
Here is Jill Stein at a table with Putin for the celebration of the anniversary of his propaganda outlet RT in December 2015.
