I didn't read the article as such... so no, I'm not "dancing around the deathbed". Any positive article on skepticism is a good article. :)
 
I think he meant that he didn't quite see what you saw when he read it. It paints Randi as old, not in touch, and more like a cheerleader for the rationalists and that his way of debunking small time people, such as Gellar, is past what is needed.

It is almost a eulogy for Randi, or at least his ways of business, but a nice one.

By the way, i love the ads that Google places at the bottom of these pages

IBT correctly interpreted my poorly worded post. I wrote it in haste - sorry for the confusion. :) I did read the article; I basically dismissed the "Randi's style of debunking is dying out" part as "human interest fluff". To me, the article pretty much comes under the heading of "no such thing as bad publicity." for skepticism, a beleagured subject these days.

Randi's style of debunking will only die when no one does it anymore. I think - like many things - there's an ebb and flow to this kind of stuff. Right now, there's an overwhelming religious right/PC kind of attitude prevailing. I'm hoping that the pendulum will eventually swing the other way, and sanity will return along with intolerant outrage at the hucksters growing like toadstools everywhere we look.
