Just did a straight Google search for "sylvia browne", and here are the top ten results:

1. Her web site
2. The Wikipedia page on her (fairly negative, despite its NPOV)
3. a Foxnew.com article "Celebrity psychic Sylvia Browne hit for telling mom of Amanda Berry..."
(don't get too excited, nobody hit her).
4. a HuffingtonPost article "Sylvia Browne's Failed Amanda Berry Prediction Returns To Haunt Her"
5. Stop Sylvia Browne

7. Her new web site.

Are you aware that Google puts you into a bubble? It knows your search history and your interests. So if Google has cottoned on the the fact you look at stuff from a sceptical point of view, its results will be skewed that way.

Having said that, I did a Google search from a system that hasn't used Google before (I booted a live Linux CD) and got very much the same results. Also, DuckDuckGo, whose primary claim is that it does not track its users or put them into bubbles, returns your StopSylvia site third overall in its results. But most of the top ten are still very much pro-Sylvia; it's only around the 13 - 20 range that a few sceptical entries appear.

To get around the Google bubble, you can try your search using a proxy server. Go to www.proxy.org, select almost any proxy server from the hundreds they have listed, and using that proxy go to Google and try your search.

I just did a search for sylvia browne in a browser I do not normally use and got on the first page 9 links to sites that contain bad news for her.The other one was her own site. Means anyone googling her name will find the truth about her.

I had never heard of 'your' Sylvia Brown until I tried to find something on a crap tenant of mine of that name who had left owing thousands in rent and damages.

I just typed "Sylvia Brown" into DuckDuckGo. Unlike Google, DuckDuckGo doesn't keep track of your past activity, so doesn't tailor its results to you.

Ah, my mistake. Trying it again, I find I get pretty much the same results with either spelling.

Spelling mistakes and typos do happen, which is probably why this thread is titled: Googling Sylivia's name.
