Google Sky unveiled

Don't know if you guys have seen this yet, but I just checked out the newest feature for Google Earth called Google Sky:

So the next time you are in the Horsehead Nebula and you need to find the closest Starbucks, whip out your BlackBerry and you're in business.

(Looks like there are still a few bugs with the placeholder feature, but all in all, pretty cool).

I don’t like it.

You read that right. I don’t like it. Well, to be clear, I don’t like it yet. I think this version is lacking some basic necessities, but once they (and some tweaks) are added this will be a pretty cool app.

Phil Plait goes into a bit of detail about his likes and dislikes. The Google folks would be well advised to take them into consideration.

I imagine they'll have a slew of comments from the experts to make adjustments from. It makes you wonder though how much time the invested in the beta version before launch.
