Special ops member rescued in Afghanistan

(CNN) -- One member of a U.S. special operations reconnaissance team missing in Afghanistan since Tuesday has been rescued, a U.S. official speaking on condition of anonymity told CNN.

The team member "evaded the enemy and was successfully rescued by U.S. forces," the official said.

2nd member of missing U.S. military team found in Afghanistan, official says

KABUL (AP) - A second member of a missing elite U.S. military team has been found and Afghan forces were trying to reach the remote area where he has taken shelter, a provincial governor said Monday.

The comments came a day after the announcement that one of the American service members who disappeared last week had been rescued. A U.S. military spokesman said only that American forces were still in the area searching for the missing men.
