"Uri Geller reveals what happened when he hypnotised and interrogated his friend Michael Jackson"

Today's Sunday Telegraph (UK) ran a commentary piece by Geller in which he describes how he placed Jackson in a hypnotic trance and asked the singer whether he'd ever "touched a child or a young person in a way that you shouldn't". Satisfied with the negative response, Geller then commanded Jackson to forget the question had been asked (rather unethical, I'd say, if it weren't complete rubbish to begin with). Too bad Geller was never called as a defense witness. Too bad for the prosecution, that is.

Geller concludes by saying "I hope that very soon [Michael Jackson] will be staying in my home again, meditating in my glass pyramid[.]"

But not babysitting while you pop off to another TV interview, eh Uri?

The same Uri who was reported to be good friends with David Blaine(a statement refuted by Blaine's people, claiming he was a publicity seeking hanger on!)

He WAS a good friend of Blaine's. He merely commanded Blaine to forget about it under hypnosis -- Blaine's forgetfulness is therefore further proof of his awesome powers.

"Uri bent a spoon for me, the first time he did it, I thought there must be a trick. The second time I was stunned, completely, completely stunnedand amazed. It just bent in my hand. I've never seen anything like it. It takes a lot to impress me. Uri Geller is for real and anyone who doesn't recognise that is either deluding himself, or is a very sad person."

David Blain, (American Magician. Star of ABC's Television Specials.)

I assume 'David Blain' is David Blaine? :)

If so, this means

(a) never trust any magician to tell the truth
or
(b)

:)

It means never trust David Blaine to tell the truth, while he's going a bit too far to cultivate that "mystique" about himself. If he can imply that Uri has taken him on as apprentice...

I think it was only some time later Blaine realised what a clown Uri is perceived as, but he'll never see that signed affadavit again.

Re: Geller's claim... odd how he waited until after the verdict to produce this amazing "I already knew all along" evidence, hey.

Maybe Geller hypnotised himself to forget until after the verdict, as he obviously didn’t want to unduly influence the jury :)

I hope that pyramid doesn't have air holes. For both their sakes.

I notice that this didn't come out until after the verdict was reached.

Uri: Did you know I'm psychic?
Skeptic: Yeah, righto, pull the other one.
Uri: I knew you were going to say that.

Has anyone pointed out to Uri that MJ's beliefs about his own actions are irrelevant to whether MJ was guilty or innocent? It's about evidence not belief.
