Fun with Racism

Classic.
Stephen York, who participated in the skit, said he's not a racist and was not perpetuating stereotypes, as some White actors do. "I have some real good Black friends," he told The Associated Press.

While I can't read their minds and know for certain they were racist, I think saying they are dumb as rocks is pretty safe.

Well the comments on the site about the article seem to display a high degree of intelligence. :jaw-dropp

The words "Completely Clueless" probably sum up the original activity. :eye-poppi

"My husband pantomimed playing the piano. So I guess the piano should be offended." --Mrs. Church Lady
Umm...well...if pianos were once enslaved by whites, and if your husband was insensitive enough to dress up as an insultingly stereotypical piano, and if pianos had feelings...

Natural selection just isn't doing the job anymore.

That particular quote certainly doesn't do anything for their credibility, does it?

But it does a lot for their incredibility. :)

At the heart of it, I don't think they were really racist, just...well, "dumb as rocks" or "completely clueless".

Next month they will be performing Chinese Gospel music - complete with rubber bands around the eyes and Chicklets for teeth.

On the other hand, if I were Randy Travis, I'd be more than a little miffed at them using my songs. :D

I wasn't sure what to think about this site, until I hit the 'Hanging Out' page; the game of Hangman seems to tip it off a little....
I, too, wasn't certain of the sites intent which made me feel a bit off balance. And then I realized that is part of the amusement of that sight is the fact that people need verification that it is satire before they are comfortable laughing at it. Read the your letters section to really see this in action.

Sad thing is, you just *know* that there are people really like this...

How can anyone take that seriously enough to send irate letters?
I really laughed, it´s so darn stupid. The best one is

"You're so cool, you're different, you're not like other Black people!"

What with the emasculation of asian men and fetishization of asian women in today in the media, I wouldn't be surprised if they could get away with it.
