FREE Tensor Calculus Textbook

VERY cool...

...in my 'Idealistic World of Perfect', ALL textbooks would be available online like this one, for free, to anyone who wanted to persue that study.

In fact, ALL books and movies would be accessible in this manner, no further than a public library away.

FULL access to all public information, for everyone equally!

Now THAT is dreaming...

I dropped out of Calculus before I flunked out.

It didn't help that I kept falling asleep in class.

The deciding moment was when the teacher handed us an assignment that we needed a computer program to work on. I couldn't understand anything of what she was asking: "Why don't I just let the program do the work for me?" No matter what we discussed, we couldn't get from
her understanding -> my understanding

We had a refreshing and rare-heard frank discussion about my viability in the class. I withdrew later that afternoon rather than get the inevitable F.

I seem to remember an article written by one of the CSICOP emeritus where he mentioned the book of calculus that he used back as a teenager (Paul Kurtz?) He said it was still the best book on calc that he has ever read. Darned if I can remember what it was called.

It was always on my to-do list to learn calculus properly.

Any place on line for good beginner algebra????

I can't believe I have to recall all that stuff I dumped from my brain long ago. Time to teach the little one, and the stuff offered for sale at the bookstore for homeschooling truly sucks. It's religious, the word problems involve going to bible study! And no, I don't home school, but my daughter has dyslexia, so I like to help out her tutors and teachers by getting her a jump start over the summer.
