Fox News goes totally insane over Covid-19

Fox News talking idiot, Laura Ingraham, has really upset Kiwis after claiming that we are setting up Quarantine Camps and imprisoning anyone that refuses to have a Covid-19 test and that Biden and the Left want to do the same in the US, forcing Americans to give up their freedoms.

The reality is that she is mixing up present day life in New Zealand with Managed Isolation that only for those that are travelling to New Zealand from overseas, or those very few people who have tested positive or are close contacts with those that have. The "Facilities" that Jacinda Arden speaks about are not camps, but rather Government paid for 4-Star Hotels where those in Quarantine are getting treated like any hotel guest would, except for the ability to leave the Hotel until they have completed their 14 days.

We haven't given up any freedoms, other than the freedom to be a jerk and potential spread the disease about the country, and it is this sort of measure that is the exact reason that we do only have 25 deaths.

Once again Fox's talking heads prove how much idiotic and woefully ill-informed they are, and then spread those lies and garbage on to their gullible viewers.

It’s because we’re a nation of immigrants, of other countries people. If they would just stop sending all of their tired, their poor, their huddled masses and wretched refuse to us, we’d probably be OK, right?:D
 
Any chance Jacinda Arden can run for POTUS? Or at least put her in charge of our Covid-19 task force. She has a pretty good track record and I'd feel much better knowing she was calling the shots.

There was a lot of luck involved, but the main reason we are where we are is that Jacinda was willing to listen to and follow the suggestions of the scientists and medical professionals.

The initial 4-week (which became a 6-week) Level 4 lock-down was supposed to give us time to prepare, but instead because people were willing to trust the Government and for the most part followed the lock-down protocols, it burned the virus out because it had no way to infect new hosts due to social distancing and isolation.

Since then there have been missteps, but they have been caught before they were too costly in most cases.

For all of that, the decision to act decisively, transparently, and quickly is why we are here, and not where the US, UK, or Sweden are.

It is possible to beat this virus, it just takes the willingness to do it from both the Government and the people. Everywhere would be virus-free in two months if they were willing to do what it takes to win.

It should be noted that our government (in Sweden) is, and has been, listening to the scientists.

I expect that you are quite correct.

In fact, I would not be surprised to learn that Fox News is already working on such material so that they will be prepared to use it just after noon on 20 JAN 2021.

I also expect that on 20 JAN 201 Fox News will boldly state something stupid like "The Trump inauguration crowds were so much bigger than the Biden inauguration crowds". Which will probably be true because unlike that POS Trump, Biden will make sure that proper social distancing is maintained at all of his public events (but of course Fox News will make sure to omit that very important fact).

That's not fair - I expect they know exactly what's really going on and make the very intentional decision to constantly lie.
