And I think SMF is Simple machine Forum.

Anyway usually take a look at the bottom ,where is Power by put along with copyright,but it is in very small print(at least here),so look carefully.

I've got a lot of branding-free software on my site, but I don't see the need to pay extra to remove the vbulletin branding considering there really isn't a better solution out there for discussion forums (especially as large as mine).
 
Besides the brand name should be there. Then if someone sees this forum and wants to start there own forum they know how good the software is and who wrote it. They can go to other forums and do the same thing. Then buy the best. Ensures that good quality software will sell well at the cost of poor quality software.
 
Well there's something to be said about pre-emptively stifling competition by obfuscation; if I came upon a dirt cheap but robust solution that'd revolutionize my slice of the market, I'd want to keep it under wraps to whatever extent I could including purchasing the company who made it.

But the cat's already out of the bag about VBulletin.
 
That would not be in the interests of the company, nor most of its clients. So I suggest that unless you are a big company to give a small free plug to your suppliers, like this forum does with vBulletin.
 
I can find may wy around here, drunk or sober, so I vote to keep it as it is.
