This - I do not have time to waste going to things in which it turns out I have no interest.

Apologies. Rushed to spread word.

Support needed to oppose proposed U.K. legislation.

Well respected Quackometer blog by Andy Lewis has new post titled:

'The Saatchi Bill: A Quacks’ Charter'

Please read and if in agreement add support.

Spread word about what? Support what?

Feel free to read the Quackometer blog piece, which sums up the issue far better than I can. However, essentially Maurice Saatchi (better known as an advertising man, and a peer of the realm - member of the House of Lords) has sponsored proposed new legislation which could lead to legally sanctioned quackery in medical treatments.

Requires responses to the consultation by end of play today.

I think there should be no "alternative medicine" on the NHS, but I think it would be inappropriate for me to add my name to this blog petition. The guy lost his wife to cancer. The issue should be properly debated and discussed, with expert input. Some blog laden with casual ill-informed opinion isn't going to help much. So I'm sceptical that what we have here is some guy who puts himself up as a white knight protecting the public from woo, when actually he's just a guy on the make. It's called "doing a Dawkins".
