Magic! A wonderful product of 20th century shaving technology. How does it work - what turns it from gel to foam?
 
Now I need to know where I can buy a can of "friggin foam" (TM).

Where's that sex supply shop....?

The superposition of multiple possible realities. There are an infinite number of universes similar to this one, and in each one the shaving gel contains varying amounts of air. When the probability wave collapses into a single Eigenstate through measurement the different possibilities are smeared together on a macroscale.
For those who ask why this doesn't happen with other things, it's because each universe is unique and in this particular one probability smearing only happens on a macroscale in shaving gel.

Hmmm, I like that explanation, as it can be extended to other situations.

"Well, you sure are home late, and no call! What the hell happened?"

"See honey, in all of the different universes the Garys came home at different times. But in just this one, ONLY this one, all those different arrival times came together to this particular moment. But be assured that on an infinite number of other universes I'm still out, probably still drinking. So this isn't so bad, right?"

Yeah, that'd work.
