Catfish tries to swallow basketball
Friday afternoon, Driver was standing on the deck of his house near 119th Street West and Central when he saw an eight-inch ball floating in Sandalwood Lake.

Noticing the ball wasn't floating normally, Driver wandered to his dock for a closer look. A catfish had its mouth stuck around the ball.

Driver hollered for his wife, Pam, to get a camera while he unrigged the sail from his nine-foot boat, wading into the lake and corralling the fish toward shore with the sail as a seine.

Several times, the flathead tried to dive, only to have the ball buoy it back to the surface.
Check out the photos. Incredible!

Not really that funny, the rubbish we lose and discard actually kills the wildlife. There is a big move here to ban the plastic bags they give you at supermarkets to carry things in. A lot of them just end up strewn around the country and in the waterways, killing animals.

Another big, big problem for wildlife are those plastic fasteners used to hold 6 packs of beer or soda. (I always cut the rings before tossing them in the trash)

man....what is up with the catfish lately.....

this is the record breaking catfish that was caught yesterday.............

obviously I photoshopped the gut onto the bottom, but the fish size is genuine...

My grandfather quit noodling catfish as a kid when he dragged a cottonmouth out from under a bank. His descendents all have been taught not to noodle. We are 3 generation of non-noodlers.
