Filesharing program sues another filesharing program

The owners of Kazaa are sueing Kazaa Lite, for trademark infringement. In case you don't know, Kazaa is a filesharing program that has lots of spyware programs and Kazaa lite is the hacked version without the spyware.

Yes there's a certain irony here. Kazaa knows (how can they not) that their software is used to infringe MILLIONS of copyrights each and every day, a fact they choose to ignore because they make a few quid from their "select" material they offer on line (ads and demos basically) and the band width they "Borrow" for things like Cydoor, shunting data around with user PCs. Well I wonder if the court they persue this action in will be sympathetic.

IIRC, the Kazaa EULA specifies that the laws of NSW apply to the agreement - this could get very interesting.

Overheard late one night through Hand Bent Spoon's bedroom window:

"Oh, look at all you little copyrights! You want to get violated, don't you? Don't worry! Hand Bent Spoon can violate you all night long!"

Of course the future of P2P software is open source, decentalized development so that in effect there won't be anybody to sue.
