I do understand the psychological impact of a room's layout. There is a basic basis behind it. The lighting of a room, the space used, all of it may create subconscious stirrings. Taking this into account, how deep does Feng Shui go? Is it vague enough to say "Well-lit room good, darkness bad", or is it really throwing out some crazy ideas?

I totally agree with you that a room's layout and lighting, color and decor do have a lot of psychological impact. But real Feng Shui adds mysticism to it. For instance, you can place certain objects in your house to ward off evil spirits.

Of course, I find that "evil spirits" has a huge correlation to a person's lack of well-being. An anthropomorphisation, perhaps? Everything else (that's weird out there) is...
