16 years ago on this date, Feb 26, 1993, a truck bomb weighing in 1500lbs
exploded in basement garage of WTC complex. Terrorists original intent
was to damage the structural supports columns and cause one tower to
topple into another. Failed to accomplish goal, but killed 6 people and
injured 1000 more (mostly by smoke inhalation)
On many Twofwer forums have seen all sort of wild claims that FBI made
and set off bomb. Terrorists were only "patsies" setup to take blame among other nonsense
Should remember the 6 who died
