I ran onto this while searching for information on Nikken products. It seems to me to be a renaming of an ordinary process in order to sell something. Am I in error?

http://www.earthtym.net/ref-far-infared.htm

This is just one site of many that will come up with a search for Far Infrared Technology.

Groog recommend fy-yor. Much Far Infra-Red magic resonance-restoring bio-ceramic invisible biogenic radiation stuff available from fy-yor. Fy-yor easy to make, too- just rub sticks together few hours, get hot, poof! Fy-yor!

Are these people for real? "Bio-ceramic?" "Biogenic radiation?" This one's almost as good as "penta water." I'll keep that link in the "funnies" favorites list. It's not as good as the timecube, but there isn't much that is, after all.

You are perfectly right. A bunch of people are selling so called "Far infra red" products. One such company here (called CONybio can you believe it) is doing quite well.

Samsung is offering a bunch of products with "bioceramics" I have been boycotting their products since then.

BTW what were you doing looking for Nikken products. Another piece of woo?

I was involved in a discussion about chi energy on another forum (which I posted about here under Chi energy) where Nikken's product, a ceramic knee wrap, was the object in question. I was searching for Nikken's blurbs about their product, but found that they seem not to tout their products but have their 'representatives' or whatever they're called, do it. According to those selling the product, the wrap works on the principle of FIR Technology. There was also fine stuff about ions in a relaxed atmosphere, or some such nonsense, but FIR seemed a little easier to research. ;-)
