Facebook Friends Problem

Hi
I don't normally ask for help, but a situation has arisen on Facebook, and I would like to know if anyone has experienced anything similar.
I have received on two occasions, a lot of friend suggestions from my friend – the last time, it was 74 suggestions, in the space of an hour or so. I also received a lot of friend requests from his friends on the same day.
I thought he was just being funny, but he adamantly denies sending me any suggestions – and instead, accuses me of pinching his friends, publicly on my wall.
I don't know whether to believe him.
There are at least three possibilities
(a) Although he has mental problems, I try to see the good side in him, and have known him for a few years – but some friends tell me that he is a trouble maker.
So he might have done this deliberately – but he has continually adamantly denied it.
(b) It did occur to me that he might be suffering from multiple personality disorder, where he doesn't remember what he has done
(c) The other possibility, is that it is a glitch in facebook or some sort of virus – but I haven't found any mention of any such thing on the internet, except a fake virus alert
I wonder if anyone has any experience of this happening - as it is quite difficult to ascertain the truth

What does 'pinching his friends' mean?

I have currently 54 friends on FB and that's it. A goodly number of them are my daughters friends (so I can keep an eye out for misbehavior and how she interacts with others).

I had ONE TIME when I had one person I had (at the time) recently friended on FB start saying I was acting inappropriately. Since I wasn't (had evidence I wasn't) and she was overreacting, I unfriended her. Later, in real life, we talked it over in person and I accepted a return friend request.

A day after that, I quietly unfriended her again because I had realized it wasn't worth the trouble.

Moral of the story: maybe it's just not worth the trouble for you either and it'll probably be best if you unfriended that person.

the sugegstions are thrown up by FB, I have never seen 74 at one time.

They generated the friend requests themselves.

Unless you got all the suggestions at once, not likely a virus, are you involed in Mafia Wars or Vampire Wars?

Just to clarify -

The friend suggestions were in a list, created by clicking on the icon at the top left of the screen.
After each suggestion was a statement, saying that this person had been suggested by this particular friend.

I am aware of the normal facebook 'pseudo' suggestions on the right side, but I ignore those.

These were (supposed) personal suggestions from my friend.

But it seems to be explained by the link anyway
