Eugenie Scott will be giving the Technology Society of Central New York's 2006 Sweet Lecture, "What's Wrong with Intelligent Design Creationism," on Thursday, March 30, at 5 PM.

Eugenie Scott, Ph.D., is the Executive Director of the National Center for Science Education, which I'm sure everyone here knows. Genie rocks! (Everyone here knows that too.)

The lecture will be held at Onondaga Community College in the Whitney (Technology) Building Auditorium. The presentation is free and open to the public.

CNY Skeptics is a member of the Technology Society of Central New York.

I heard her speak a couple of years ago at Colgate. She was great.

So, Claus, you're flying in for this event?

I would if I could.

I'll remote view it, though. And I predict a bloodbath. (OK, that's not really a prediction, it's more of a given....)

Same old story, eh, Claus?

Oh, yes.

I can't believe that Behe has that mousetrap illustration on his page. It's been shown so many times that the mousetrap can work with one or more of its parts removed.

It's called a "cat". ;)

I suppose Behe still has it, because it is an easy way to illustrate his basic argument: Argument from ignorance.
