Recent investigation into "200+" possible bigfoot tracks near Elbe, WA has been conducted. The initial report of the trackway was made to Cliff Barackman, then to the BFRO by e-mail.

Initially it seemed the BF researchers were excited about the possibility these tracks were authentically BF. Now it seems they have serious concerns about the trackway, and are pretty sure it is a hoax.

Thoughts?

If BF researchers consider it a hoax, I can't even imagine it not being one.

Simple really, There needs to be a Bigfoot to make Bigfoot tracks, so of course they are a hoax, and most likely the Footers are calling them that to throw off some of the skeptic's and claim they don't think everything they find is real, you can't be so clever when the thing you are trying to sell to the public doesn't exist in the first place, all you can do is hope you can keep enough interested so you can keep making enough money of it to survive.

Tim :)

IIRC, DamnDirtyApe/Rick Noll was pretty certain the trackway was not a hoax in the beginning.

I find this interesting. Rick Noll surely knows BF does not exist even tho he champions an elk's arse as BF. Why did he intially proclaim this trackway almost certainly the real deal in the begining? Did he do so because he thought the BFRO team had hoaxed the tracks? And he was "helping" by lending his "standing" amongst bleevers?

Cliff Barackman's "anger" at the time wasted investigating the trackway is a hoot. Unless he is the village idiot he too certainly knows BF does not exist. But with his Finding BF TV show he has to "investigate" these things, or else the bleevers might catch on that BF is imaginary. Cliff undoubtably knows this too and no doubt the anger is feigned.

Not trying to throw this thread off track but that entire Elk Lay thing was just ridiculous, it really threw the mud in everyone's face ( no pun intended ) that tried to sell it as BF related, just goes to show ya how far some will go with this BF farce.

Oh, surely not a hoax!!!!!!!!!! Oh....wait........oops, yep, it's a hoax!:D

If I was going to hoax Bigfoot tracks I would for sure ask Barackman to investigate. He has an excellent record of authenticating almost anything that is represented as Bigfoot tracks. You would have to be a moron to make a trackway that guys like him would declare a hoax.

What set him off? I haven't followed this at all. Did he declare them to be hoaxed because of some feature he found, or what?

Apparently it might be an active BFF member who perpetrated the hoax. He's been missing for a while now. I hope it's not him, but you never know.

Be ya he is in "Acapulco" for a few weeks, spending up some dough he got from Matt and the BFRO for placing those tracks.

However, I will say that this is the best hoax that I have yet witnessed, and certainly a lot of time, research, and effort went into it.

But...no one would ever go to the trouble...

However, my admiration for their psychopathic expertise in lying does little to refund my money for gas and casting material. Neither does it return the more than nine hours I spent driving, or the more than eight hours spent at the site over two days during my precious one week off from shooting the show.

Ahhh...it's the hoaxer's fault that Cliff is a believer...

One side says, 'Awesome. Researchers can spot a hoax, even a "good" one'.

The other says, 'How TERRIBLE! How dispicable! Crucify him!'

Yes, it was "Tontar". (not yet confirmed clay)

I was just looking at the BFF thread. Saw what might be the supposed confession post by Tontar and it was not a confession...it was a joke. Is that all there is to the Tontar story? I didn't go through the whole thread.

Cliff said in his statement that it 'was a known skeptic who is also building a Patty statue' or something like that.

Yeah, that's him. Hopefully he's man enough to apologize.

Will Cliff apologize for telling the world that the "Bigfoot" of modern folklore is a living unclassified animal, thus wasting the time and gasoline of thousands (perhaps millions) of people?

Evidently they have something concrete to connect it to whoever the hoaxer is/was. Don't ask me how, my paranoia antennae is already on high alert in regards to invasion of privacy when it comes to such.

MM grandstanded and threatened to post the hoaxer's name, number, and address publicly, then backed off the threat to just calling the person's boss and telling him what he supposedly did . <snork>

The anger is related to the ongoing struggle with credibility outside the culture and amongst their peers within the culture.

I was dubious of dermals being found on a foot that has never worn shoes ( I would think the bottom of a foot like that would be one big callous) They looked too generic to me so I figured they were hoaxed and stopped following the story.

The take home lesson should be to study the hoaxed tracks so that you aren't as easily hoaxed the next time if you are out there looking for bigfoot

Once again, the cult responds to challenges by attempting to and/or threatening to use confidential information to harrass and/or harm individuals, and by posting hate messages.
