While both men and women have a copy of the X and Y chromosome, women have a second X chromosome that, up to now, scientists thought was inactive.

Also, the basis for the story is "Women really are more complex than men, at least when it comes to their genes Pennsylvania researchers report." I'm not sure, but from reading this article and other articles regarding the Y chromosome, it just means that like the Y chromosome, additional active genetic makeup is being found in the second sex chromosome.
