Here's a story about a dowser trying to help locate a missing body. The man is known to be murdered but the body can't be found. The officer who took the tip says if they DON'T search the area the dowser (who used a map, not actually on location) says to look and then later on the body is discovered there then it would be a black eye for the department. As opposed to the black eye they'll get for taking the dowser seriously. But this whole article paints the dowser in a positive light, I thought, and the police seemed to take the dowser seriously. Is dowsing so accepted now? I know this must come up all the time but to see it in my local paper really hits close to home. It reads matter-of-factly like dowsing is just something that isn't challenged and is accepted.
The officer is quoted: “It’s a wild goose chase, but it has merit,”
Dowsing officially has merit for this police force now.
I also didn't know there was an American Association of Dowsers.
