As far as I can tell from reading up on it, this is another overhyped, celebrity endorsed miracle cure. The only miracle being poeple fall for it.

While it may improve self confidence there is nothing to suggest that it actually does anything to help with the underlying causes of dyslexia.

DDAT or Dore in my case is absolutley useless becasue dyslexia manifests itself in me by impacting on logical sequencing, no amount of working on my blance will alter that.

One thing that does work well is using the higher levels of visual memory that i have at my disposal. I use pictures in my inds eye to arrive at the correct logical sequnece, it is taxing but it works.

Balance? Um, no, until I got old I was good at "balance" sports. Never had to train a whole lot. .sdrawkcab sgniht teg llits I tuB

Ex-rugby star's dyslexia 'cured'

Former Wales rugby captain Scott Quinnell has claimed a controversial treatment which includes exercises with bean bags has cured his dyslexia.

In a documentary to be shown on BBC Wales on Tuesday, the former Llanelli and British Lions No 8 is shown undertaking the Dore programme.
An unfortunately uncritical article overall, despite the description of the programme as 'controversial' and 'criticised'. I feel an email coming on.

For more on Dore, see Ben Goldacre's Bad Science article.
