Gosh that Tom DeLay is a busy soul. When he's not busy violating campaign finance laws or making illegal use of Homeland Security, he's out protecting our national image. Now he's castigating the Subway for portraying America as "fat" in their German advertisements.
"This is every bad stereotype about corporate America come true," DeLay said in a news release.

Oddly, he has no proposals to eliminate stereotypes of Germans or other nationalities in US ads.

they are not fat, they have big bones. :D

Tom Delay is objecting to promotional material for a documentary about how fast food can cause obesity, which is being run by a company in a country which is not the US. So much for the country of freedom.

As we all know, though, the only redeeming feature of Germany is that they successfully invaded France - twice.

By the way, it is politically incorrect, prejudicial and presumptive to use the descriptor 'fat'; please use horizontally challenged or people of plenty or economy-sized Americans instead. Thank you.

Interesting that he is worried about the image of corporate America, but not the image of governmental America.

Not to worry. Other rich nations, such as Germany, have rapidly rising obesity rates. They'll catch up to us in no time. Then we can make jokes about a nation of fat Oompah band tuba blowers in a gazebo in the town platz.

From the article:
DeLay objected to the ad's parody of the Statue of Liberty, "one of the most recognizable American symbols."

And he complained about the flier including a quote from filmmaker and "pathological partisan" Michael Moore, whose anti-Bush diatribe Fahrenheit 9/11 has become the Democrats' choice for best picture.
AHA. M. Moore may be what set Delay off.

Germans are already fat, what with all that bratwurst, sauerkraut and lager, but at least they're not Americans.

Oops, the pc filter failed again.

Originally posted by Hutch Tom Delay is a mental moron...but then again, he is a Texan...

When a medium-well liberal (yours truly) and a medium-rare conservative (Tony) agree like this, you know the guy is seriously disturbed.

And Tony, my aspersions on Texans exempt you--you're too bloody terse in your responses, but you are not a moron--yet (get out of Texas while you still can!!) :D ;)

Tom Delay is a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ for many reasons. But I ask, but what do you judge me a conservative?
