Sorry, but this is not how moral reasoning works.

Agreed, but it is how the rule of law works.

In this case, the rule of law and moral reasoning are not in conflict. For that reason I would accept the Judges verdict, should it ever go to court. The only immoral part is where certain people (like Cheney at the time) think they have so much power they are above both moral reasoning and the law.

Depends. Maybe your moral reasoning sets you against executing people for whatever reason.

But capital punishment for "capitol crimes" might be a capital idea for capitol criminals.
