Derren Brown's Mind Control premiered here last night.
Unfortunately, the network screening the programme didn't promote it and the description in the TV Guide made it sound like a Martin St James stage hypnotism show.
Still, it was excellent watching Brown work and a little scary that participants comments during the closing credits revealed that some of them didn't believe that he used trickery but were of the opinion that he really had read or otherwise entered their minds.
My favourite segments were the "scissors, paper, rock" trick and the Orson Welles painting trick with which he closed the programme.
I really hope that Nine will promote this programme more as an antidote to all of the "woo-woo" crap which airs on the 6:30 "current affairs" programmes each weekday evening.
