Denmark set to withdraw Iraq troops

POSTED: 6:27 a.m. EST, February 21, 2007

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) -- Denmark was expected to announce plans to begin withdrawing its troops from Iraq at a news conference on Wednesday, Danish media reported.

Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen has earlier said he hoped Denmark would be able to start scaling back its 460-troop contingent this year. He has not yet set a precise timetable.

And then there was one.

Yessir our PM finally regained his sences. Unfortunately he is still hoplessly in love with GWB (Curious George as we call him).

Now to solve the problems in Irak on the other hand. Alas i have no good ideas but i know you can't solve them with millitary means.

Shouldn't you be saying that Denmark abandons Iraq? Or is your penchant for Bush bashing that out of control? It's sad that the BDS syndrome makes you abandon all critical thinking.

Would that be like a non-binding resolution?

You might be able to solve them by military means, but it would mean ruling the country with an iron fist and crushing any who oppose you. In short, being exactly like Saddam.

. . . speaking of critical thinking, are you asserting that Denmark would be in Iraq at all if it weren't for Bush?

You mean like:

- suspension of due process

- the need to spy on the American people without probable cause

- the need to develop tactical nukes (WMD) in spite of nuclear proliferation treaties

- the endorsement of torture

- pushing his religion on the nation . . . etc?

When is criticism of Bush not "bashing"?

When it's constructive and well-reasoned. Name-calling and exaggerations aren't constructive or well-reasoned, hence, they're just "bashing".

Is it still bashing if this administration made it clear at the onset that it wouldn't accept any criticism, constructive or not?

Iraq democracy is less than a year old and Denmark already bails out. I guess they'll have to go back to fighting radical Islam by drawing cartoons? Oh wait, that's right, they chickened out on that too!

The reason I asked is that I cannot recall any Bush supporter refer to any criticism of Bush as anything else but "name-calling" and "exaggerations". Or the like.

Gee, an article almost a year and a half old!

Depends. Obvioulsy, the administration is allowing criticism. Otherwise, you and a bunch of other people would have disappeared a while ago, and I'd be probably out of a job (at least). If the criticism is actual criticism (ie, Bush shouldn't have gone into Iraq), then it's criticism. If it's "Bush equals Hitler", then it's bashing.

Well, yeah, but then again, that works both ways. I've seen Bush "bashers" do nothing but put up silly lists of how Bush presided over the WTC attacks.

By the way, don't bother asking whether I'm pro or anti Bush :)

Why does Denmark hate America?

You forgot Poland.

One of the most ironic statements to grace this forum.
