Stupid, but it made my chest swell with pride to see so many great men and women.
 
When they were refuting the "fools" part, they listed scientists, geniuses, and intellectuals.

When they wanted to refute the "their deeds are vile" part they listed ... a bunch of actors, actresses, and celebrities? Did the author of this video misunderstand the passage? Did he mistake "their deeds are vile" for "they can't act worth a damn"? Buffet and Anthony were the only ones who obviously belonged on that list (Gates? Hmm...) Presumably, some of the other celebrities mentioned have engaged in philanthopy of one form or another, but they're hardly obvious choices for refuting the claim.

Even for the "fool" part, I doubt it was ever supposed to mean, "Atheists can't do physics."

I agree it wasn't perfect and didn't make perfect sense. I though some of the examples were not dead on, but I suspect he went on line and typed in "famous atheists" and used what he was able to find.
 
Seeing Charles Schulz listed on there threw me a little bit, but then I looked up his Wikipedia page and saw that, sure enough, towards the end of his life he considered himself a secular humanist! Score one for the good guys! They can keep Johnny Hart.
 
The video lists too many entertainers. I like Seth Green, Jodie Foster, and Bruce Lee and all but they aren't really exemplars of virtue (neither am I for that matter). The song is stuck in my head though.

I love this video, but some of the stuff they claim aren't exactly correct,
like Angelina Jolie (as much as i would love to have Angelina on our side, she has never said she is.), Carl Sagan (agnostic, but never claimed to be an atheist), and Jack Nicholson (have no idea what he is), but it's a great video.
 
Carl Sagan is atheist simply because he doesn't believe in a god. I don't know if Angelina Jolie would be a good person to mention because she might be atheist, but I think she believes in paranormal nonsense. If you don't know that Jack Nicholson's beliefs are, how can you claim you know he's not atheist?
 
I am sorry thaiboxerken i should have been more specific. I should have said Jack Nicholson is not an atheist, but i have no idea what he is.

I said Angelina Jolie isn't an Atheist because i know she has never claimed to be.

I put Carl Sagan down simply because i know he personally stressed that he was agnostic.

i was curious after seeing the video a while back and just double checked to see if the video was accurate in designating some people as atheist.
 
Ok, so Jack and Angelina aren't atheist by their own words. But is Carl Sagan a theist? If he's not theist, then he's atheist. Agnostic is not an acceptable answer to the question "do you believe in a god?"

I see your ability to misrepresent what those you disagree with is still intact.

No, he isn't against voting. He is saying that the majority vote for the wrong people.
