Do you think that the president of Sudan Omar al-Bashir should be arrested? Do you think al-Bashir should face genocide charges because of Darfur? al-Bashir should be arrested next time he steps out of Sudan. He needs to be in the same place where people like Radovan Karadzic are.

By whom? And how? Arresting a head of state is not a simple thing, you know.
Moon figures wemoonbats (where wemoonbats = people who agree with moon) should cordon off Sudan, trying not to be seen, so that the next time Bashir steps out, wemoonbats nab him. Wemoonbats couled even have the cops hollar into a megaphone "Come out with your hands up!" to get him to step out. Granted, cordoning off the Sudan would take about two grillion* cops, but details are for sissies in moonland. Alas for moon, the number one does not equal a grillion.* ;)

DR

(* = the unit "grillion" is AFAIK TM'd by FrancescaR. It is a number that represents a whole lotta something)

Darfur the new Cambodia

Is Darfur the new Cambodia? Omar al-Bashir is just like Pol Pot. Bashir is not a communist but an islamic dictator. Sad that it looks like Darfur going to be another Cambodia. I guess history really does repeat itself. Personally I think that there should be a military intervention to stop the genocide in Darfur. But of course if China, UN and Russia say everything is ok in Darfur then it must be true. I can"t believe that Bashir is another Pol Pot protected by China. Just sad.

Why did you abandon this thread and start another one on basically the same topic?

Hillary and Obama both promised to stop Darfur genocide but will they? Of course not. Biden, Hillary and Obama all say that Darfur is a genocide. Of course things are not as simple as they seem but atleast leaders of the world should even try to care about Darfur.

What makes you say they do not? Surely if the situation is mentioned by american presidential candidates that suggests it is an important issue? As I understand it there have been attempts at peace keeping both by the UN and the AU. They have not been successful but I do not see how this supports your idea that nobody is trying to intervene. What do you think should be done? I believe that the president is indicted for war crimes by the ICC: is that not correct?

The world as it is does not match the world as it should be. Coming to this realization is one of the great pains of growing up.

The only way to stop the violence is to go in there and kill a bunch of the people doing it. Is it really a mystery to you why nobody wants that job?

I But of course if China, UN and Russia say everything is ok in Darfur then it must be true. .

thats because Russia and China are NOT Communist dictatorships. they are now both crypto-Capitalist Fascist states..with rubber-stamp legislatures.

I thought Darfur was the new Black?

(I had to say it)

ETA: original thread title was "Darfur the new Cambodia"
