My God!

"No Inferno thread yet?", thought the six foot one, tattoo-less man as he browsed the esoteric vaults of the JREF forums. Maybe they're better than that.

Or maybe not.

Honestly, though, I think Dan Brown is great, writes thrilling adventures in realistic settings with believeable characters, and adds tons of real-world knowledge in there too...

... is what I said when I was twelve and had just read "Digital Fortress".

That's not even true. I raised my eyebrows more than a few dozen times at the various weird aspects of the book. One plothole I remember clearly was how quickly their internet worked when they had no time to fix the security breach at all.

There's already a book by that name, by a somewhat better writer.

Participating in such as thread would require reading, or at least skimming, the book; I for one have no intention of so doing

Indeed, one of Dicks' better efforts.

I applaud anyone who attempts to derail a discussion of Dan Brown with references to Dante and/or Doctor Who.

I thought Hell was what the reader of any of Mr Brown's books experiences, regardless of which one it is?

After taking a crack at DaVinci Code, I make it a point never to read Dan Brown. I like my Kindle and I don't want to have to throw it across the room in frustration.

I suggest one of two courses of action here:

a) Read the book and then comment on its contents.

b) Toss it into the flames and remark on how ironic it is that the title is Inferno.

I am going to predict it will feature a romance, a hot-button topic that he will misrepresent, limited POV switches to "trick" the reader about what is happening, and the Big Bad that everyone thinks is the Big Bad isn't and it is actually the trusted friend/mentor all along!

That's literally how every single one of his other books goes.

A number of people I met on my recent trip to Italy are despairing the release of this book. As if Italy's history and culture were not damaged enough by his earlier books.....

c) Start at (b)
