NO!!!!
I can't sleep knowing this guy's out of work! It's not fair! He'll have to go back to the coal mine where he got his start, and slowly worked his way back up to tabloid rabble-rouser.

The Daily Mirror is one of the UK "Tabloid" newspapers. It is generally left wing, as opposed to the Murdoch-owned papes (Times, Sun etc.) which follow the Murdoch line. It has a reputation for campaigning journalism but, like the other tabloids, tends not to let little things like facts get in the way of a good story.Originally posted by chrisberez Help an American out. Although, judging from your name, you might be like me. But can someone tell me, is the Daily Mirror realiable? I've visited it a couple times on the web, but it tends to come off as a tabloid. Is the news it reports realiable most of the time? What about the observer?

Jon_in_London will be doing cartwheels over this.
I have to agree with Jon on this one. The last election was in June 2001. When the next election is held is entirely up to the Prime Minister, with a maximum gap of 5 years, so it could be as late as June 2006. Normally elections are held with a 4-5 year gap so it is lilkely to be next summer or autumn. Of course, Prime Ministers always try to choose the best time for them to win, so expect a delayed election if Labour are unpopular next year or maybe an early election if they think they can win.Zep said:How long until the next election, iain?
Gilligan is a twat, he deserved the sack.iain said:Andrew Gilligan broadcasts a news story about Iraq and WMDs which, whilst essentially true, has some facts wrong. He resigns after an investigation costing the taxpayers over £2million.
Morgan is a twat, he deserved the sack.iain said:Piers Morgan publishes photos of British soldiers abusing Iraqis. Whilst fake, there is no doubt at all that abuses have been going on for a long time and the government has known about it for months. He resigns
Blair is a twat, he deserved the sack. Oh hang on ...iain said:Tony Blair takes the whole country to war based on the threat posed by WMDs, resulting in the deaths of many British soldiers. No WMDs exist, yet Tony keeps his job.

Not really. I would be doing cartwheels if Piers Moron got dressed as a squaddie, sent to Iraq, got kidnapped and had his head cut off with a rusty teaspoon. Then I would be happy.

Not likely to happen. OTOH, he might just bump in to Jeremy Clarkson again.
He was rather unhappy at some photos Morgan published. Ended up thumping him at some awards evening, IIRC.LucyR said:Clarkson's the motoring guy, isn't he? What's his connection with this?
