Cuomo's Brownshirts put squeeze on AIG

Shame is what keeps people from deteriorating into something lower than the animals from which we evovled. Sadly, some of our major capitalists have lost that trait, to the detriment of humanity.

I don't care whether the snivelling little brats at AIG think they earned anything or not, contract or no. If bankruptcy courts can cancel union pension funds, these maggots have no right to keep other people's wealth when they shove the company down the toilet. Workers earned their pensions by being the source of somebody's wealth. What have the AIG punks ever done for anybody?

Save your sympathy for the people who are getting screwed, not for the rapists.

"They were the thugs Adolf Hitler and his National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP) used in their drive to power: beating up opponents; destroying polling booths; driving off opposition party voters at the polls; stealing ballot boxes; attacking and trashing opposition party headquarters; and generally brutalizing anybody who dared to oppose their beloved fuehrer."

Great analogy.

Brownshirts. Right.

Well, if AIG doesn't like all the pressure, they can just GIVE BACK THE MONEY!!!!

So the rule of law doesn't matter, according to JREF liberal thinkers?

Is ridicule an argument to shield the intimidation tactics and threats, misdirecting so as to not discuss the tactics of thugs?

Go get a better argument than ridicule, bring it back and present it. Bring your law code section. I'll listen.

Anger and ridicule, no response.

I robbed someone who makes more money than me in the street the other day at gunpoint.

I don't care if the sniveling little brat had a contract with his employer that makes him think he earned that money.

*I* think he earned *too much*, so that's quite good enough reason for me to take it by force.

(Yawn)

Like most "revolutionary socialists", you're not much more than a wannabe violent thug who ignores the rule of law the moment it's convenient.

i have informed the authorities. you will soon be arrested by brownshirts for making a stupid analogy.

An object lesson. You harrass and lie about ands blame working people for the mess that the ecconomy iis in, you have no reason to whine when the angry neighbors come out to call you the low life you are. The lowlifes who ran the financial sector into the ground need to be shown that they no longer matter, that their interests are not important enough to be enshrined in the laws of the land. They have had too much influence on the shape of our laws since the jelly-brain from California elevated them to god-like status in the 1980s.

Is ridicule an argument to shield the intimidation tactics and threats, misdirecting so as to not discuss the tactics of thugs?

These Wall Street wheeler-dealers are the ones backing sociopaths like the rushblob and others who stir up hostility toward workjing people, who spread lies to bolster the grip of the corporations on the throats of working people.

They have no chops to whine that their rights are being abused after what they have doen to the lives of the working class.

Thugs with money have done more harm to this country than all the thugs with pocket pistols ever will.

They derived their money by fraud and abuse of the confidence of investors. They didn't earn it through contribution to a legitimate effort to create something of value.

To the extent that the funds available to pay bonuses to AIG execs stem from their derivative sales, they are derived from fraud. and they are using our money to make up the shortfall.

Actually,, this is one example of a human being who views the company he worked for in a proper light.

Any of the little punks who put the money in the bank and go out and indulge themselves thinking it a just reward for "crerating wealth" need their egoes deflated.

It is a shame that you have not heard it before and sad that the majority of the responses you have received so far in this thread are so negative.

From day one very few of the MSM have pointed out that not all the folks at AIG were an evil bunch of low life scammers. Many had worked hard to make the company profitable and were ethical in all they did. The insurance part of AIG was one unit that was well run. To tar everyone at the organization with the "crimes" of some small unit of the company is wrong. To treat them as the US Government is doing is wrong.

How soon your country has forgotten the rush to join Mr Bush in the war on Iraq.

I thought retro-active laws were against your constitution.

:boggled:

IMHO, of course. ;)

So, how many of the AIG employees that received bonuses do not look at their employer in "a proper light"?

The only real motivation that anyone at A.I.G.-F.P. now has is fear. Mr. Cuomo has threatened to “name and shame,” and his counterpart in Connecticut, Richard Blumenthal, has made similar threats — even though attorneys general are supposed to stand for due process, to conduct trials in courts and not the press.

His is a take on the situation I have not heard before. And he hardly sounds like a "sniveling little brat."
This is the classic tactic of the state attorney general who wants to be the next governor. Go after fraud and corruption, make a name for oneself as a fighter for Truth, Justice, and The American Way.

But what if you don't have any evidence that the people you don't like committed any crimes? Simple: Smear them in the press. Anyone remember Elliot ("Love Them High-Priced Call Girls") Spitzer? That is exactly the recipe he used to become New York's governor.

Someone please explain to me exactly what crime these people have committed that require Cuomo and Blumenthal to "name and shame" anyone. Attorneys general are supposed to prosecute crimes. If these people have committed crimes, then prosecute them. Otherwise you're just grandstanding in hopes that the ignorant howling mobs whose fury you're stoking will promote you to your state's top job next election day. Ignorant howling mobs made up of people like leftysergeant.

Speaking of LS, your one-trick-pony of rhetorically spitting on everyone you disapprove of and calling them various species of vermin is childish - about one level below, "They're a bunch of dootyheads." If that's all the ammunition you're going to bring to this table, maybe you should argue with someone more on your level at the local playground.
