Hi everyone,
With CSIcon registration open now, it's time to ask if people would like to volunteer to help. You'd be volunteering about four hours of your time, but never during talks or special events that you paid for. In exchange you'll get a volunteer version of the CSIcon 2017 t-shirt and free admission to the Halloween / Disco party. Also, if there are any special shows in the evening that you have to purchase a separate ticket to attend, ticket-takers get in free. (They've got to stay near the door, in case of late arrivals, so they won't get the best seats. I randomly chose ticket-takers from among those volunteers that haven't bought tickets, and you can't volunteer to collect tickets only.)

Thank you Wowbagger! I've got you on my list :-D
There's also a link to volunteer at http://www.csiconference.org/. It says
Please email volunteering@csiconference.org.

In your message, include the following: First Name, Last Name, Organization, Email, Phone Number

Also, please let us know your availability around CSICon, your arrival and departure dates/times, and how many hours you are willing to volunteer. Feel free to mention if there is anything else you would like us to know or if there is something you are particularly good at and would like to provide assistance with for the conference. Comments and questions are welcome.

I take about 4 hours of your time, and never during a talk or show that you've paid for. We help with registration before talks, take lunch tickets for the first few minutes of lunch, etc.

Email to that address will go to CSI and also be forwarded to me.

Man, if this was in the summer, or perhaps even in September, I'd be sorely tempted to go, even though it costs an arm and a leg, and way more than I should spend on a vacation, to get there from Finland. But late October? Can't be done. :(

I'm in!

Steve Bauer here, ready to volunteer in accordance with the usual policies. I come in Thursday afternoon at 4:10pm and go out Monday, also about 4pm. I have one wrinkle, which is that I have no hotel room Sunday and would love to sleep on the floor or in the bathtub of anyone who does. Failing finding a place to land, I will camp out at the airport and just wait for my plane to go out.
