There was an editorial on Nature.com yesterday about how the Texas Higher Education board is evaluating an application by the Institute for Creation Research to allow it to grant online master's degrees in science education, and that some advisors are recommending that Texas should accept.

Read the rest of my response here, and check out nature.com for the original story.

Cheers, Michael

Love the sign. It would be interesting to know who raised it (or Photo-chopped it). Properly read, it is a great piece of parody, particularly with the tacked-on afterthought.

As for the ICR app, well, I guess we'll see what Texas is made of. Those advisers, according to the story, are the members of the same board that fired Chris Comer with the plea that they shouldn't get involved in the controversy.

I see the pixels...

I never claimed that the sign was real; it's just for dramatic effect.

Actually, the sign is real. It just doesn't say what I photoshopped it to say, and I didn't touch the "Proud Home ..." part at the bottom. :)
