Oct. 9 — Pam Anderson is making a plea to Siegfried & Roy: Free the tigers. The former Baywatch babe — who is also a staunch animal rights advocate — is spearheading a campaign to have the beasts from the long-running show released into an animal sanctuary.

“I (AM) URGING the show to use some of the millions of dollars it has made from exotic animals to build a state-of-the-art sanctuary and immediately retire all the animals in the Mirage compound,” Anderson writes on her Web site.

Last I heard the tigers already had a multi-million dollar state of the art sanctuary...Sigfreid & Roy's home. What's with these PETA people, are they all crazy?

"A bright loud stage is not an exotic animals' natural habitat," says Anderson, who advocates the show "use some of the millions of dollars it has made from exotic animals to build a state-of-the-art sanctuary and immediately retire all the animals in the Mirage compound."

This, coming from a woman who knows so much about "natural". I said this when I read it yesterday, and I'll say it again now,"Pam Anderson, you are officially off of my Latent Lesbian Crushes list".

Oh, Moe! She'll be devastated to hear that! Don't you think you're going a little too far? I mean, all she wants to do is save those lovely, furry little pussy cats!;)

Even pea brained idiots like Pam are not wrong about everything. Wild animals in Vegas shows are a recipe for disaster. Wouldn't be exciting if there wasn't danger involved.
I'm anti-PETA, but there are animal experts who feel this is no place for them. I agree.

"Animal experts disputed a theory that a tiger accidentally mauled Horn saying the 600-pound animal was going for the jugular. Horn remained in critical condition at Las Vegas’ University Medical Center and could not speak, but was communicating through hand signals.
“The cat wasn’t trying to protect him,” said Jonathan Kraft, who runs the Arizona-based nonprofit group Keepers of the Wild. “That was a typical killing bite.”
“I admire the guys, I just think they are sending a wrong message,” Kraft said. “The message needs to be: These are wild animals.”
....
Louis Dorfman, a Dallas animal behaviorist, said Fischbacher’s account of an accidental mauling was “a beautiful story but it just doesn’t wash.”
“Stress led to the bite,” said Dorfman, who works with the International Exotic Feline Sanctuary in Texas. “It was an outlet for his irritation. Roy got lucky.”
When Horn fell, the cat’s hunter instinct took over, and he pounced, conjectured Dorfman.
“He didn’t mean to kill. Even though his instincts took over he was mindful of the fact this was Roy,” Dorfman said.
“His instinct, just like your cat at home, is to take his toy off with him,” he said.
