* Countdown: TAM 6 *

The end of summer is usually the time that I start really looking foward to TAM, and with the recent loss of the great Mr. Andrus I've been thinking about the Meeting and all my Forum friends even more.

Now that Number 6 has made Vegas its summer home (rather than winter retreat), the current month of September is comparable to April for how I counted down time before. It's still a whole baby baking time away! And while some folks have 5.5 and Island Cruises to help them bide the time before the next Official Meeting, I'm left anxiously counting days like a kid waiting for Christmas (or Festivus, depending on holiday hipness).

But in not wanting to grumble or mope about the vast expanse of time that separates us from our future fun, I've instead chose to concentrate on all the things to look foward to.

TAM and tan sound alike, don't they? And just think of all the time we'll get to spend lounging by the pool! Remember that beautiful ol' cement pond at the Riv that was just sloshing around with no one there to admire it? Well, just think of it this way! Now we can have a swimsuit edition of the Skepchick calendar!

The extra five months we're giving Vegas before our return means that they'll be able to finish those 5 million other casinos they're building! That means more show options and sightseeing options for us, not to mention all new buffets! Think of the feasting!

Us nerds will have more chances to curse the sun, which we already love to do! Buy stock in sunblock now! Our whiteness could make you a millionaire, without the woo!

Plus you'll be saving money already by not having to buy new winter clothes! How many years could I keep going wearing the same sweaters? Thank goodness now I can wear dresses and tank tops and flip flops! Have you ever seen me in a bikini? No, you haven't. Because it was too freakin' cold! Throw me some of that sunblock!

Think of the speakers we'll have access to now that they'll be out of hibernation!

And best of all, nine more months gives me enough time to save up the money to go and have my boyfriend attend as well. Yippee!

Anyone counting down with me?
 
I propose that the Chocolate Challenge be held poolside, during the hottest part of the day.
 
I'm frankly a little afraid of Vegas in June (you're not kidding, MoeFaux -- there's a decent likelihood of this one nerd simply bursting into flame).

But I look forward to TAM all year. I'm a little heartbroken about the delay!
 
Me me me! And I miss MoeFaux!

I don't think we'll have time, during the day, for sunbathing. Do they keep the pool open at night? Then it's awesome! I'll keep my bikinis ready.
 
Alas and alack, I shall probably be unable to attend TAM 6, for reasons educational and financial (will be receiving my AAS in Digital Communications, BA in Education, and on the lookout for a new house), but I currently have emptied out my giant Darth Tater bank and filling it with loose change unsecured coins that fall into my pockets.

As for the weather, I grew up in South Texas... Nevada's a doddle!

...and I'd wear a bikini any time of the day!

We've already started paying down the cards for AA2, and we're ready once again for LV. But I was stationed in that area of the desert, and it gets brutally hot. Maybe instead of sunscreen, some zinc cream, or just a few coats of exterior laytex?
 
I may completely melt into nothing due to the hot weather--it happens to old people--but I will risk it and be there.

I am getting ready. In my case, this involves cooking up another crossword puzzle.

I haven't found a good theme yet, but I'll keep a-looking. My preference is going to be for a more traditional square puzzle (like I made for TAM2 and TAM3) rather than the unique rectangular puzzles I've prepared for TAM4 and TAM5.

I am also considering a two-sided puzzle, that is, a crossword on one side of the sheet and a puzzle of a different kind on the other side.

No!!!

Oh no. No way.

It's just a way I like to scare people with time. Nine months seems like forever until you say, "you could have a baby plop out of you in that amount of time," which is so extremely scary that it almost makes 18 months sound better. Your whole world can change in that short of a time.

So I think that and realize that TAM isn't *that* far away.

Personally I'm just thrilled thinking about 6. I have a secret speaker desire that I hope will transpire into reality with the right amount of Moe magic, and dreaming about that makes me even more excited.

Summer just seems right this time around, shaking it up a little so it's not the same thing.

And yeah, bikini's. Late night hot tubbing. Mmmm.
 
Yes.

I could use that Britney Spears scale but I thought with the baby comparision it was already implied. Time flies!

As if my winning chocolate could get any hotter.

Bah!

Although, melty caliente chocolate could make a few skeptics hotter, if they're using it right...
