Could you pass a Canadian Citizenship Test?

Why? Canada is European.

14/20, but a couple were wild arsed guesses.

Yeah, well, none of Canadian history is taught at schools over here, so those were the ones I do not know.

The bits of post-Columbian American history that pop up in history classes in school (not universities) are pretty much USA only.

Outside of school, Canada is a big white spot, too. Except for the fact that the Queen is still head of state, and that it's north, I doubt anyone here knows much about it.

RESULTS: 13/20
Good Job. You're Smarter Than The Average Guy Lafleur
I think this is the score that is gained by randomly selecting answers

Also 13/20. Should have been 14 but I misclicked one. Then again, a couple of correct answers were mere guesses.

11/20. Apparently Canada isn't a communist golfing utopia. I did like this question though:
Who was the first leader of a responsible government in the Canadas in 1849?
Sadly, "they haven't had one yet" wasn't an option.

Well I passed the test ,

but like many other Canadians I think I would have done better on a U.S. history test.

20/20
A true hoser. You're aboot as Canadian as back bacon, maple syrup and the Tragically Hip

I did guess about the national sport. I figured it was a toss-up between golf and hockey. I choose the one that involved more beer.

I only got 16/20, not great for having lived in Canada for a few years. In my defense, I was busy making little Canadians at the time, not studying history & politics. And I realised my gaffe on the New Brunswick question just as I clicked the submission button.

Edited to add: Happy Canada Day!!!

Did okay on the political stuff. Probably should have been able to get 15.

Happy Canada Day! Today is when Canadians and Canadianettes celebrate the anniversary of Aslan's overthrowing the terrible white witch, Celine Dion. Parades, bonfires, wicker men, snakepits, and eating lots and lots of traditional vanilla bean calamari. Tomorrow there will be many hangovers in the jungles of the north.

10/20 from NZ, we were always challenged to name five famous Canadians. Watched Guess Who in 1972, and the best concert we had here. These eyes and so on.

16/20. I guessed wrong on all the questions with the funny names and missed the bilingual question.

I knew "hockey" would be in there somewhere.

Is the above person not the sharpest tool in the shed?

Ranb

Naaaah, it's a pun on "average guy". Except his name is pronounced "Geee". He was a hockey player, but among hockey players (who aren't known for their intelligence and erudition) he was not particularly known for being dumb.

Oh, and I'm still eligible for my Honorary Canadian status (bestowed on me in years past). 20/20. I had a close call on one I was sure I knew, the bilingual province. I nearly put Quebec and at the last second smacked myself upside the head.

I suppose having once prepared to take the test, albeit several decades ago, I have an edge.
