I sat in section 3, row d, last seat. So I was fifteen feet away from Penn who was on stage in his Jazz hat and hairstyle playing his bass.
During the preshow where people were going on stage examing the boxes for the first trick, I found my mark. This schlep from nowhereville was on stage and his wife was making him pose with the boxes for pictures. She was off stage standing near me.
I leaned over "take a picture of the magician"
her "who?"
me "the magician, he's playing the bass"
her "really?"
me "yep, he's the one they call penn"
A few seconds later she had barked orders to her husband to go stand in the music corner of the stage by Penn for a photo. Penn's such a nice guy that I don't think he minded having some schlep pose with him.
It was a good seat, later when Penn did the straight jacket trick, he was sitting a few feet from me at the end and I hadn't even noticed.
Overall their show was good, they goofed on the other vegas acts, and after the show they made sure to meet/greet with the audience.
