No, not really. But I did notice that Triumph the Insult Comic Dog will be on O'Reilly tonight. Should be worth watching.

(It can't be any worse that the Moore/O'Reilly exchange anyway, right?)

Has OReilly abandoned any shred of credibility that he might have?

I just don't get it. It's not like TtICD is even a celebrity who's political opinion we shouldn't care about. It's a friggin puppet!

And that's what'll make the "SHUT UP!" so damn good.

He's obviously pandering to the loudmouth dog puppets by having Triumph on. O'Reilly is such a sell out.

I don't get the whole "Shut Up" thing. There was this article entitled "Bill O'Reilly Wants You to Shut Up" that cherrypicked instances where Bill said the words "shut up" and like, only once was it directly said to a person (Jeremy Glick) who turned out to be a conspiracy woo-woo.

Outfoxed cherrypicked these same instances for their movie btw.

I loathe O'Reilly as much as the next guy, but I its for better reasons than cherrypicked silliness.

My biggest problem with O'Reilly is his facade of being a populist and always championing majority opinions unless they disagree with his catholic ideals. He always uses "this is what the folks want" as if majority opinion is a critical thing for public policy. His inconsistent mob rule mentality is just intellectually offensive on every level.

Bill O'Reilly is a great journalist.

FOR ME TO POOP ON!

Has this been posted yet? (see link)

Apparently O'Reilly does not like being called "the pot." He exploded, repeatedly called me an "S.O.B." and assured me that he would cut my accusation from the interview when the show aired. He also said I would "never ever" be on his show again. At this point, I wasn't sure whether to take that as a threat or a promise.

I just wonder how far he is going to have to finally get canned. His ratings are still too good I guess.

His is his own biggest mark and his ego is leading him on a path of self-destruction. Mark my word, O'Reilly is finally going to cross a line one day that will sink him, and he will bitch about how people like Al Franken led to his downfall for the rest of his life.

It's more like it's his little catch phrase. But you're right about O'Reilly's facade.

I concur. The Al Franken lawsuit is a perfect example of ego carried to a destructive end: "No one else can use the phrase 'fair and balanced.' It's mine, I tell you. All mine!"

Did O'rielly sue or Fox? How can O'reilly sue to protect a Fox Trademark?

No. Fox sued to stop Franken's book, saying that the book title violated their trademark. It was rumored that O'Reilly was the driving force behind the suit.

As the judge laughed the suit out of court for lack of cause, he remarked that he didn't think the trademark was probably valid anyway.

And the Daily Howler here provides analysis of Bill O'Reilly's latest contibution to, er, civil discourse.

I saw the bit, and couldn't believe how well behaved Krugman remained.

Growing up, I felt schoolyard bullies were the scum of the earth. I saw flashbacks of those shoolyard bullies when I saw O'Reily. When he kept pointing his finger, interrupting, and yelling when the interruptions were being ignored, I wanted to punch him through the set. Whether I even agreed with Krugman didn't matter at this point. O'Lielly is the scum of the earth, if only metaphorically.

When O'Reilly lied about the political leanings of the Fox line-up, I wanted to punch him.

When he lied about how if you raise the taxes on the top tier (back to what they were, which is all Kerry is proposing), he wouldn't do his radio show because of the lack of incentive, which would in turn cause the loss of 50 jobs, I wanted to punch him.

Krugman handled himself much better than I would have.

Two things that jump out at me:
1) Is OReilly really making so much that this change in the tax rate at the top tier would affect him so heavily?
2) That alone sounds like a good enough reason to do it
