I would like to change the order of the items in the contextual menus (right-click menus).

Where are those items listed so I can change the ordering ?

Windows 2000.

Thank you

i don't think you can. it may be possible in a particular application, but I don't think you can in explorer or other OS bits.

It depends on which ones you are talking about. For instance, the context menus for folders are ordered differently depending on how they are defined. Those in the "shell" key are simply ordered based on the order they were defined in the registry and can be reordered by deleting and recreating them. (not so safe...)

Heh. You should have said firefox to begin with. :hit: :)
It is great to know how to do it in firefox. But I would also like to know how to do it in other applications like acrobat, etc.

I thought that there might be a standard method to alter all these contextual menus (from the registry maybe). But I realize now that it is not that simple.

Thanks.

For windows shell extensions it's pretty standardized. For applications that use windows menus you can do it if you can program.... For applications that use their own custom menu solution, it's a hit or miss.... =o/
