Wii Conspiracy

Figured it would be nice to have a thread in here that didn't have...

-Mass murder
-Assinations
-Big Oil
-Total nutjob posters.

Just some innocent Nintendo Sales.

So...is this conspiricy true????

That author calls Gilbert Arenas a B-list NBA player. As an ardent Heat fan and huge D-wade supporter, I gotta call BS. Gilbert Arenas is A-list all the way.

I should go dig up the facts to debunk this clown.

IIRC, there's very little money made on the consoles, some are even sld at a loss. The money is made on the games, and the fewer consoles there are the fewer games will be sold. It makes no sense to do this.

While true of the XBOX and Playstation, Nintendo has always sold their systems for a profit.

Nope, it's piffle. I know someone at Ninty.

Also, you can buy 'em if you know where to look. They just didn't expect it to be so huge, that's all. They are only now getting the relationships with the developers they've always wanted, and to maintain those they need to be able to guarantee mass market.

Yeah they can be found. I don't remember the Best Buy down the street from me NOT having the Wii. (Well after Christmas anyway.) The writer of that peice is full of it.

On a side note If you go to video game websites, like say gamefaqs.com, and look in the system forums there are tons of examples of woo-like logic. For example when the PS3 launched, it wasn't long before the Xbox360 fans began cheering that PS3 is "teh suxors!!!!" (Lord I'm getting old) because everyone was only buying the PS3 to put it on Ebay! No one wanted to play it! They could wrap their heads around the fact that if people were willing to pay 2-3 thousand dollars for the system then they wanted to play it real bad.

BTW: Thanksto all of the spoiled brats out there. My Fiancee and I are really excited about the cruise we're gonna take.:D

Wii:

"W" is the first letter of Bush's middle name.

"ii" is often used to say "2", or "second". President Bush is the second president by that name.

There it is.

Does this mean Cartman will have to wait even longer, and perhaps time travel again?

TAM:)

But with the ps3, didn't it turn out that not that many people wanted to pay $3000 for one, so the e-bay auctions failed miserably? Unlike with the 360, where it was pretty insane.

Got a Wii for $350 off of Ebay myself a while back, and so far love the thing even though there aren't that many games yet that you don't need 3 other people to have the most fun with.

I keep hearing that but I didn't see the PS3s really droping in price till the beginning of the 2nd week. (By then there were almost 85,000 of them up for auction) But I put the 3 (plus one for myself) I had up for auction a week before launch so I made out pretty good. One went for 3K the other two went 2,500.

Also a bunch of really mad gamers put a lot of fake bids in after the frist couple of days I'm sure that hurt a lot of the auctions too.

ETA: Yeah I love the Wii too. Not having to worry about "next gen" graphics they decided on making the games fun.

I assume from the technology used, where as the wii is fairly light and fluffy on the tech side, but awesome fun.

I would like to see figures of this as I have heard of it and while it makes sense in my head, im doubtful it would be true.

The article is just like an average blog entry or commentary making you seek the facts if you want them, or have a chuckle if you want that.

Nintendo never expected the demand to be as it is. As for the developer spin, thats crap, you buy a development machine for the wii at about 2k and your away. Much cheaper development cycle compared to other consoles.
