Has anybody in a Southern Hemisphere locale been keeping track of this?

Apparently this little bugger plunged into the sun's corona, never to be seen again, until it came out the other side!

This appears to be required viewing to people in the Southern Hemisphere, very visible with the naked eye and only getting better.

Not in the south but I've been following the comet on spaceweather.com when it was first headed for the Sun.

I'll make a point of looking at the sky at sunset and see if I can see anything...

You won't. Now if you look for an hour or so before sunrise, on the other hand...

This looks worth getting up at 4:30 for. Perfect timing for me too, because in a week I'll be going to a beach in far east Gippsland, with only 1 town of over 1,000 people within a hundred kilometres in any direction. The skies are as dark as any I've ever seen.:)
