Radio Scotland news is full of science today- first a near miss asteroid, now it's the birthday of CERN, which they say is building a new collider to accelerate photons.

Slow photons, presumably.

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC), which will hopefully start by 2007, will accelerate protons and bang them on each other.
