Cloudflare is down again (500 internal error)

Not even month has gone before we got yet another nice outage courtesy of Cloudflare. I have to say, something had to change in the past year in there, since I don't remember such frequent problems with them. But then, crappiness and slowness of their services should have been a warning...

ETA:And they finally resolved it. Maybe... I think it was about 15-30 minutes long.

I expect they let go some old highly paid employees and hired some young low paid employees to replace them.

Kevin Beaumont wrote about the very niche case that the React vuln is exposed in. It is possible that someone with little experience and too much authority panicked and restarted services to deploy a fix for an issue they didn't have. He's worth following if you're on Mastodon

I prefer Bitbucket. But Atlassian also uses Cloudflare, so yeah...

For work, our software team uses a combination of cloud-hosted Bitbucket and locally-stored Bitbucket for sensitive projects.

I prefer bitbucket because otherwise code management systems will become a monoculture owned by Microsoft. I was quite bitter at the way git so quickly took over the World and wiped out my favourite - Mercurial.
