60 minutes is going to start showing point/counterpoint type segments with Clinton/Dole.

I don't even know where to start with this one.

I thought you were talking about the MTV Deathmatch thing at first, in which case I may have given it to the younger guy that can use both arms. But words? Match to Dole

I don't know, Troll. They don't call Clinton "Slick Willy" for nothing...

But.

Dole is probably the smarter of the two. And a lot funnier. And has more integrity in the eyes of the public, too.

But.

Neither one of them will ever change anyone's minds. And I won't guess as to how many fence-sitters each one will "win over."

But.

Since it is 60 minutes, Clinton will probably have a friendlier audience.

In an early edition of this story on the New York Times web site, the following tidbit appeared:
It [the "60 Minutes" "Point-Counterpoint" segment] even inspired a famous parody, the Dan Aykroyd-Jane Curtin combination on "Saturday Night Live" which always had Mr. Aykroyd referring to Ms. Curtin as "Jane, you ignorant slut."
There you have it, from the paper that has all the news that's fit to print.

I think it will be very interesting.

For one thing both are out of politics so there will be no need to toe the party line or worry about ‘special’ campaign contributors. I think we will probably see both men a tad bit more candid.

that's true. Actually dole would probably have a friendly audience with the MTV crowd, everybody loves an underdog and for Dole to be on MTV makes him an underdog even more so than being on 60 minutes, aka 1 hour of anything not republican.

Dole is a much better speaker since he has ceased running for public office. However, he is no Clinton. Clinton is da man when it comes to communication.

You mean misleading communication?;)

I would submit that if you can mislead so easily, that your communication skills must be pretty sharp.

Good ole' Clinton. I took the wife to Texarkana AR/TX to visit her mom. We were driving on the arkansas side and her mom pointed to this corrugated steel building and said it used to be a the big dance/bar/hangout in the area. Then she said "That was where I danced with Bill Clinton when he was in-between offices" (Bill lost the head job in arkansas but later won it back).

I couldn't help it but I had to ask, "Did he make a pass at you?" She just laughed and said "well duh....... that old fool".

Apparently that David Brock spectator article wasn't too far from the truth.

Head job in Arkansas? Is that what's called a blow job in NY? haha

And I have to agree with an earlier post. shanek is hard to decipher at times, but he's way more in the middle than most of us so often we agree with him but wonder why. He's making me more libertarian each day and I never really tell him that.

That depends on what your definition of "is" is.
