Another summer gets underway in the US and here we go again. Already large parts of the US are contending with record-breaking heat that has also triggered torrential rains in many places. Even South Dakota's governor Kristi Noem felt it necessary to issue an emergency declaration due to heavy rainfall and flooding in the state.
Millions of people across the US are still trudging through a record-setting heat wave that is shifting to the Mid-Atlantic, while many Americans – including in New Mexico, Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota – contend with “catastrophic” flash flooding this weekend. CNN news report

Flooding? That happens all the time, no reason to blame it on global warming.

And as everybody knows most of South Dakota is a flood plain, so it serves them right if their stuff goes under water.

God must have though Kristi wanted help offing some pets.

More turbulence on airplane flights:

The scientists, who analyzed 40 years of high-quality atmospheric data to conduct the study, say they have evidence based on previous research that suggests turbulence is likely to get worse in the future because of climate change.

“As long as the temperature continues to get warmer — which of course, every single month, we’re setting a new record, now — we’re going to see more turbulence. The two are directly correlated,” Malmquist told VERIFY.

This is the driest year so far on record in my area. :(

Sounds like it all balances out. So much for climate change!

Now it's the Pacific Northwest's turn. From an article in today's New York Times:
As a heat wave lingers in the Pacific Northwest, people in parts of Washington, Oregon and Idaho who are farther from the coast may see dangerously high temperatures near 110 degrees before the weekend is over. Parts of the three states, along with northern Nevada, are under an extreme heat warning from the National Weather Service, continuing a hot July for the whole region, where extreme heat was linked to hundreds of deaths in 2021.

In Boise, Idaho, Sunday’s forecast high of 107 degrees is about 10 degrees above normal and will add to a 13-day stretch of highs of 99 degrees or above in southern Idaho, said Les Colin, a senior forecaster at the National Weather Service office in Boise. On most of those days, the temperature was above 100. By early afternoon on Sunday, the temperature had already hit 99 once again. New York Times news link
