Cliff has been posting recently about some Orang Pendek casting.

He cites Adam Davies here: http://cliffbarackman.com/research/orang-pendek-project/about-the-orang-pendek/

The best part is Barackman's "Data" section of his website

Is he starting a new Bigfoot legend in SE Asia? Perhaps a tourism business? A Spin off of Finding Bigfoot for Animal Planet Indonesia?

Oh god Drew, what have you done? Here comes some madness........

From the FAQ regarding why we don't find bigfoot bodies or bones.

In summary, we would not expect to find the bones of any naturally dead apex predators.

Yet we do... how odd...

Further down,

Just because we are unlikely to find a naturally dead sasquatch, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t still try. I like to poke around in the thick brush or under likely cover for just such a find. I believe under large rocks that form natural caves is another excellent choice. However, be aware that it is even more likely that you could find a live apex predator, so be careful.

Is that because these creatures are know to exist?

Yeah... Not expected to find bones of naturaly dead apex predators...
Surely those T-rexes must have been killed by aliens with death ray guns.

But hey, the odds are you can make up things about Asiatic rainforests with more ease...

He actually uses a photograph of a dead apex predator as evidence that we shouldn't expect to find the bodies of apex predators...

IMO, there are no unclassified species of bipedal hominoids anywhere on this planet. Only us. Any others would have been found by now no matter where they might have been.

Your point about the T-rexes is intriguing. Predators. Rainforest. Think about it.

There's something missing in your post. Something which could be the common thread between these mysteries.
I'm not saying it was aliens...

"You stay unclassified San Diego."

But seriously, your right-to-the-heart-of-it brevity is always appreciated. And in actuality, the entire modern-day Bigfoot premise relies almost entirely on that notion there are no other unclassified or classified "bipedal hominoids" running around. Bigfoot exists simply because, how dare we?!

Now, one-hit-wonder boy band Orang Pendek as "Bipedal Hominoid of The Year" is so absurd, we're not even discussing its possibility. Besides, the judges would never allow it. No, we'd much rather sit here and arm-chair bash the apparently brain-injured maroon that proposed it, Forrest Gump Cliff Barackman. It's more funner.

After a while, even bigfoot researchers have to acknowledge that the odds of there being undiscovered primates "everywhere" (not just in North America, but half the world) are going to be astronomically high. The possiblity that a large primate would go undiscovered in North America alone is minimal even if one assumes the creatures possessed some degree of intelligence or instinct to avoid humans, luck, and that they only live in extremely remote areas. Somehow, though, Bigfooters believe they run around every state in the union.

Then there is supposed to be undiscovered apemen in China, Russia, Australia, Nepal, North America, Indonesia, etc.... After a while, even an idiot would be able to figure out something isn't right.

For many believers it seems to serve as a chicken soup for their soul. More than just a belief it can become a lifestyle and a reason to get out of bed and to fight against the naysayers who would serve them anguish and sorrow.

Obviously T-rexes weren't the apex predator of their time. They were finger food for something really terrifying.

What the hell does "naturally dead" mean in terms of nature?

Is that because these creatures are know to exist?

I interpreted that statement as just what it says: find a live apex predator, not necessarily a sasquatch. Even if sasquatches don't exist, other apex predators are known to exist, and one could conceivably run up against one of them. Heck, even if sasquatches did exist, one could still run up against them. Thus if you go out poking around for sasquatch, you might run across a grizzly bear, for example, which could be really bad, hence the warning.
