When I first saw this picture of an injured child I thought it may have been caught up in one of the bomb blasts in Iraq yesterday.

If a mother had done this to her child in your country would she have been arrested? Should she be prosecuted? Would she be able to claim a kind of religous immunity?

I live in the UK and I'm pretty sure she would have been arrested. I think she should be prosecuted for child abuse. Then again, I think child circumcision is child abuse.
 
That was not something I wanted to see this early in the day.
Hell, don't want to see that at all.

Forget religious tolerance, that's barbaric.

Ummm, no. Nasty nasty. Why should violence be part of your religious celebrations. Why should you be allowed to assault your children on Holy Days?

A small cut to the head - a week or so and it should be healed up nicely.

Good luck waiting for your foreskin to grow back though . . .
 
I would say what that woman did was child abuse, but in America, could she claim religious freedom? Lots of screwy things are done here in the guise of religious freedom.

Circumcision is wrong. But I still get criticized for not have any of my sons snipped.

I agree with you and mummymonkey - circumcision isn't necessary, and when your sons grow up they will give women more pleasure than their c'd brothers. And I think that woman abused her child, and I'm even more turned off by Islam than before.
 
So nice we havent grown out of the Age of Barbarism, where we celebrate religious martrydom (if there is such a thing) at the expense of the physical wellbeing of our children. Praise God, praise Allah.

Plenty. Everybody has their reasons. They might not necessarily be good reasons or even reasonable reasons but they're stll reasons.
